Primal Pop -PPC-, a work created by upcycling a raccoon dog statue born in Kisarazu, was permanently exhibited in KURKKU FIELDS. Its location is a 30-hectare complex in Kisarazu, Chiba Prefecture, where visitors can experience agriculture, food, and art.

The exhibit is located in the “Market” store at the entrance, a place that can be used without entering KURKKU FIELDS and where anyone can view the artwork. Opening hours of the works will be in accordance with the “Market”‘s operating hours. Normal business hours are 10:00am-5:00pm.

This work is a revival of a raccoon dog figurine once displayed in the town of Kisarazu by artist Sebastian Masuda, inspired by the “100 Years Later Art Festival” in 2024.

“What is the first creative thing you have ever done in your life?”
Primitive pop, mischievousness, colorful impulses. It is, for example, the memory of sticking stickers on your desk when you were a child, or doodles on your bran.
In other words, it is a bare expression that appealed to my childhood, a reflex to use what resonates in my heart, and at the same time, it is a feeling that will be lost as I mature.”

千葉県木更津市にある30haの広大な敷地で農業･食 ･アート3つを体験する複合施設「クルックフィールズ」に、木更津生まれの狸像をアップサイクルした作品「Primal Pop -PPC-」が常設展示されました。

展示場所は入口にあるショップ「マーケット」。クルックフィールズに入場しなくても利用が可能な場所で、誰でも見ることができます。公開時間はマーケットの営業時間に準じます。通常の営業時間は10:00am～5:00pmです。https://kurkkufields.jp/eat/market/

“本作は2024年に開催された「百年後芸術祭」をきっかけに、かつて木更津の街に飾られていた狸の置物をアーティスト・増田セバスチャンが新たな姿に蘇らせた作品です。

⼈⽣で初めてのクリエイティブってなんだろう？Primal pop＝原始的なポップさ、いたずらごころ、カラフルな衝動。⼦どもの頃に机にステッカーをベタベタ貼り付けた思い出、ふすまの落書き。それは、幼⼼に⾃分の存在をアピールしたむきだしの表現。⼼に響いたことをそのままアウトプットする⼼の反射神経であり、同時に、成熟していく中で失われていく感覚でもあります。

KURKKU FIELDSの新しいシンボルとして、皆さんと共にカラフルな時間を過ごすPPCをよろしくお願いします。”
